  • Provide applications support to Customers and Channel Representatives.
  • Support for technical returns. Includes failure evaluation, co-ordination with other technical resources within North America.
  • Provide field support and product training to Inside Sales, Service Centers, and representative/distributor personnel (both existing and new products).
  • Travel to customer and channel locations as needed for technical presentations and sales support activities.
  • Participate as an instructor, when required, for Marketing Team seminars and training courses.
  • Provide technical assistance to Customer Service for the preparation of quotations, and proposals, for assigned products.
  • Provide applications support to Valmet inside and outside sales personnel.
  • Support product demonstrations and tradeshows, when required.
  • Work independently to complete given assignments and assists the Product Manager as directed.
  • Administers tactical programs of the assigned product(s) and contributes in the development of overall product plans.
  • Influences and guides others within own area of expertise.
Expectations
To excel in the role you should have a solid understanding of the business environment. You balance a desire to support and work closely with customers along with your passion for development of cutting-edge products.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent education with relevant industry experience) with strong preference for Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a related engineering field
  • Aptitude to rapidly grasp technical knowledge of assigned product
  • Ability to troubleshoot products
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant industry knowledge is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop channel and end customer relationships as well as build relationships internally
  • Travel is required, at times on short notice
